Proposals (Feb 2008)

Greetings.
I have a few proposals that I have been working on, and wish to share them with the creators of Dristin. Any feedback on the idea's would be nice, and if they are actually possible to create.
Proposal #1: Transportation
Walking around gets, well, rather bland. In another well known RPG that many of us have played, we have no transportation besides our feet, the the "boats" that transported us from one place to another, and the flying carpet, yet these forms of transportation, besides walking, was merely a warp, and wasn't very interesting.
My proposal is having different means of transportation, with not as much "Warping" around. Boats would be excellent to have, but why not boats we can actually drive? With this, it open's up a wide range of new monsters and area's you can create in the ocean's of Dristin. Also, different land transportation would also be nice.
Taming
One idea is similar to the convince system in Tibia, except, you use that creature as your transportation. Now, of course, some creatures would be too small, or too "dangerous" to just ride around. But, say you are walking along a nice path, and you hear your friend is being surrounded by savage dragons on the other side of the world. No boats are nearby, nor are any cities. What do you do? Well, you remember there is a leopard cave nearby, so you wander off to that cave, and use a spell, in which you would "Tame" this animal. Now, Taming an animal would of course, get more difficult the more powerful the creature is, and to Tame an animal you would be required to be around the creatures "strength" level. We don't want a bunch of noobs running around on Dragon's now do we? Hehe. But anyways, once the creature is tamed, you will actually be able to use those creatures attacks in a battle. When attacked, the monster will first target your mount, doing only damage to the mount unless it is a mass area spell, in which both the mount and player would recieve damage. Due to some creatures being powerful, your spells and attacks would be limited when mounted on a Tamed Animal. When you are mounted on this creature, you gain the speed of that creature, whether it be much faster then you normally, or much slower. Each different "tamed" creature will have its own unique aspects which can help you for different things you are doing in-game. When exiting your mount, it will stay by your side similar to a pet for a limited period of time. Then, the creature will become untamed, and attack you, in which you would either have to re-tame it, or kill it.
More Proposals are to come, any feedpack would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Falcon Hero's
