Per Relic, there won't be an active beta. Once they have the game up to a state where they can handle multiple logins they will allow people to stand around and bs with each other until they have more of the game up and running. After the initial push hopefully there should be small updates every once in a while until the game is fully up and running, then they'll continue on with the content updates.
